DCC what?

Let's break down the different DCC "etc." that you will see listed to some locomotives.

DCC Ready

A DCC Ready locomotive comes with all the wiring, connections and space needed for a decoder to be installed. Meaning you must purchase your DCC decoder separately! Bonus is that you can personalize your own functions! No Sound. 

Can run as DC (Analog).

Has the wiring to connect a DCC decoder.

DCC Equipped

A DCC Equipped locomotive comes with a pre-installed DCC decoder which makes it ready to go right out of the box! No installation or modifications required! No Sound.

Already has DCC decoder installed.

DCC Sound Ready

A DCC Sound Ready locomotive comes with all the wiring, connections and space needed for a sound decoder & speaker to be installed. Meaning you must purchase your sound decoder & speakers separately! Bonus is that you get to choose your own sounds and personalize!

Can run as DC (Analog).

Has a speaker installed & the wiring to connect a DCC decoder.

DCC Sound Equipped

A DCC Sound Equipped locomotive comes with a pre-installed sound decoder & speaker which makes it ready to go right out of the box! No installation or modifications required!

Already has a speaker & DCC decoder installed.

How to choose!?

It all depends on your preference and weather or not you want to do a little work! 

Want your train running your way, and don't care about sounds, go with DCC Ready! (Extra modifications if you try to add sounds to this version!)

Don't care about sound but don't want the hassle of installing go with DCC Equipped.

Want all the bells and whistles your way! Go DCC Sound Ready and install your own! 

Don't want the hassle and just get right to the realism, then get DCC Sound Equipped.
