Ten years before he became a DAYTONA 500® winner, William Byron was an up-and-coming short track star on the path to NASCAR®. Starting with a successful 
simulation racing and Legends Car career to start things off, Byron took on the ultra-competitive Late Model ranks in the Southeast and beyond.

To accomplish that goal, Byron hooked up with powerhouse team JR Motorsports for the 2014 season. That partnership led to more wins and got the young driver ready to take on the NASCAR® national series. Competing in events at Hickory Motor Speedway and more Late Model Stock car races around the Carolinas, Byron proved he was capable of being one of the top NASCAR® talents and JR Motorsports locked him up for even more success just three years later in the NASCAR Xfinity Series®, where the young driver became a champion in 2017.

To celebrate the grassroots foundation of Byron’s stellar racing career, Lionel Racing – the Official Die-cast of NASCAR – is excited to offer the first die-cast replica of Byron’s 2014 Liberty University Late Model Stock Car. Produced on Lionel’s updated Late Model tooling, this die-cast will be an accurate replica in 1:24 scale of the newer generation Late Model Stock Car. Each 1:24 die-cast features an opening hood, authentic body contour, hand-applied decals, and more. A 1:64 version is also available.
