Overview:

Not every car carries cargo or passengers. Some carry the crew, the tools, and the dedication required to battle the elements and keep the tracks safe. This MOW Engineering Car (ex-Boxcar) model captures the essential, gritty life of the track worker.

Before centralized maintenance, every section of track had a dedicated gang. Their rolling homes and workshops were often converted, older freight or passenger cars, stripped down and repurposed as bunk cars, kitchen cars, or rolling tool sheds. These cars were critical mobile bases, equipped with everything from spare spikes and tie plates to a foreman's desk and a small workshop. They represented a simpler, harder time in railroading.

High quality, traditionally sized RailKing Freight Cars provide detailed bodies and colorful paint schemes for the O Gauge railroader. MTH makes an enormous variety of RailKing Freight Cars, including many different car types and roadnames. No matter what era or part of the country you are modeling, RailKing is sure to have something for you.
