Overview:
The front-end styling of EMD's E6 set the proper note for the streamlined consists which followed. The smooth flowing lines of these locomotives ushered in a new era for railroading and formed a canvas for some of the most dramatic paint schemes ever seen on American rails. The trains spoke of a world of new opportunities, destinations and prosperities to a society awakening from a Great Depression and blissfully unaware of the troubles that would frame the decade to come. Lionel's latest release of this landmark locomotive includes some of the most memorable paint schemes. Some haven't been run in decades and others are being shown for the first time. We're pairing up AA or AB sets of these units based on normal railroad operating practices. Both units in each pair are powered with smoke and lighting and you'll have RailSounds in the lead A unit. For the first time, we are also offering an additional scale pilot which can be mounted to the body of the lead unit if the ElectroCoupler is removed, making these the most beautiful E's we've ever offered! SuperBass B units are also available for each road (whether prototypical or not) for those who'd like even more sounds.
