Overview:
rarity in the Lionel catalog, the U28C was a rarity in reality as well. The 2800 horsepower 6-axle diesel was on the small side of the power curve and most railroads at the time were hungry for more horses in their six-axle road power. What it lacked in flare, the U28C seemed to make up for in reliability. The majority of the locomotives would go on to serve multiple lines into the early 1980s. As they were on the prototype, a U28C will make an interesting addition to your roster; a nice break from the common SD40s and SD45s. The models feature roadname specific lighting packages and roof details. Perfect for coal drags, mixed freights or even yard power from the 1960s to the 1980s. Diversify your roster with one of these unique U-Boats!
