The bi-level gallery car is an icon of American commuter rail service, originally designed by Pullman Standard in the 1950s these bi-level gallery car designs have since been produced by five other major rail car manufactures. The bi-level gallery cars are still in service today and can be seen with secondary owners all over the united states. Chicago’s Metra operates the largest fleet of these cars today.
